Season 2 Episode 5

Okay, so I am beginning to become moderately interested in this season. Finally, we have answers regarding Aleister and the Commandment. Witches did not have male children, but this was not biological. Rather, it was a rule. From what Paige told Clay and Nick, male foetuses were aborted before they were born. This was because of a doomsday prophecy that was created at the time the werewolf curse was cast. Ruth explained that the werewolf curse so disrupted the natural balance of magic that the prophecy that a son born to a witch would kill them all was made. What Paige did not know, what Jeremy figured out, was that Aleister, also known as Timothy, was Ruth's son.

Aleister was to kill the ones who curse (the witches) with the cursed (the werewolves). Witches were connected on a spiritual nexus. As soon as Savannah was already in full possession of her powers, Aleister could inject her with Elena's blood to kill all the witches. Aleister said Savannah would be fine because she was the chosen one. This was why Aleister has been teaching Savannah magic and encouraging her, even to the point of using his own magic secretly to make her believe that her spells were working. Savannah needed to be rescued before she became a full fledged witch. By the end of the episode, however, Savannah's magic was already in full bloom, and rescue was still hours away.

Elena managed to convince Savannah to keep a channel open with Paige. With Elena holding on to Savannah, she was able to give enough information about the compound for Nick and the pack to find its location. I have been wanting to see Elena free of Aleister's compound; I hope this happens soon.

Strays

■ Rachel was injected with Elena's blood. She pretended to be mind controlled, and almost escaped, but she went back to look for Logan.

■ Has anyone noticed how Logan was not really discussed amongst the Stonehaven crew?

■ Rachel stopped the spinning top in that white carpeted room, and the mark on her neck, along with the marks on Aleister's followers, disappeared. As soon as Aleister got the top spinning again, the marks returned.

■ Paige and Nick sh-gged on the woods, after Paige made it clear that she just wanted something else to think about other than the current predicament of the witches.

■ Timothy's adoptive mother said there was evil inside of him. Timothy told Elena he was beaten by his adoptive father to get the devil out of him. Timothy later killed him.

■ Sondra, who liked pain, survived the first turn, but her mind was broken. Aleister killed her.

■ Clara Sullivan was a witch who turned to the dark side. She was shunned by the witches, her talisman was destroyed, and now she had no powers. She hated Ruth because it was Ruth who took away her powers. It was by scanning her memory that Ruth learnt who Aleister was.

■ The werewolves did not know that dark magic created the first werewolf. They believed that the first werewolf was the 7th son of the 7th son.
