Season 2 Episode 7
Seven episodes in, and I have finally warmed to this season of Bitten. This episode showed a fine melding of the werewolf and witch storylines. This is Bitten's best episode so far this season, and one of its best in its entire run.
I am going to start with the story that had the most emotional resonance, Nick's meeting with his mother Lily. Antonio's last words to Nick before he died was the name of Lily's mother, the mother from whom he took away baby Nick years ago. Jeremy later told Nick where Lily was. All this time, Nick has not gone to see Lily. He kept thinking of the foremost rule of werewolves, the iron necessity to keep their existence a secret. If any human found out what they were, the human had to be killed.
Paige, who helped Nick satinise Aleister's now empty compound, told Nick reasonably that Lily never needed to know about the werewolf part of his life. They stopped by Hawkesbury where Lily owned a restaurant. Lily was perfectly nice; she still wore the engagement ring Antonio gave her. She told Nick she kept thinking that he would come back to her eventually.

Because Nick and Paige are apparently not millennials, they left their phones in their car. The phones were stolen by a member of the Spanish pack. Eduardo had taken over as Alpha, and was forcing Jeremy to kill Roman, the Russian alpha, or Nick would be killed.
At Paige's urging, she and Nick checked in at a Bed and Breakfast, where Lily found them. Lily knew that Nick was her son. Antonio sent her pictures of Nick every year. A follower of the pack rule all his life, Nick freaked out at what all this meant, at what it could mean for Lily's safety. He walked away. Paige followed him and tried to convince him to talk to Lily. It was then that Nick caught the scent of the werewolf who has been following him.
Nick and Paige drove away to lure the werewolf away from Lily. In a cornfield, Nick and Paige separated. The Spanish werewolf arrived with Lily at knifepoint. Nick as a wolf attacked him and dragged him away. Lily immediately knew the wolf was her son.

Later, after Nick had killed the Spanish werewolf and learnt what they planned at Stonehaven, he went to see Lily at her restaurant. Lily knew about werewolves because she saw Antonio transform the day Nick was born. Antonio, a pack enforcer, ignored the rules and allowed Lily to live. He offered to send Lily money but she said no. All she wanted was a photo of Nick every year, which Antonio sent until this year. Lily looked heartbroken when Nick confirmed her fear, that Antonio was dead. They said their goodbyes, for Nick said it would be too dangerous for him to return.
At Stonehaven, Roman, Eduardo and the Council kept challenging Jeremy on Malcolm's death, on Elena's survival of her first turn, on his Pack's propensity to associate with humans. Jeremy insisted that he was Alpha and would run his territory as he pleased. Whilst Elena walked with Roman around the property, Eduardo told Jeremy that Nick would be killed if Roman was still alive by the end of the day. Though Clay wanted to go find Nick, who could not be reached through his phone, Jeremy tasked him to find out more about Eduardo's plans.

Matters were further complicated at Stonehaven by the arrival of Savannah, who claimed she had a premonition of Elena's death. Even before Roman learnt for sure that Savannah knew about werewolves, he was already scolding Jeremy about letting a human child into his home. Savannah shared her vision with Elena; it was Roman who was killing her, and Aleister was there.
Jeremy made Eduardo believe that he had killed Roman; as proof, he gave Roman's bloody jacket. Roman was downstairs with Elena, listening as Jeremy and Eduardo talked, as more members of the Spanish pack arrived at Stonehaven. The story Eduardo planned on telling was that Jeremy and Roman fought, and killed each other. One by one, Elena took out the Spanish werewolves. When Roman showed himself to Eduardo, Eduardo tried to weasel his way out of the mess by saying that Jeremy killed Rodrigo, the former Spanish alpha. Roman already knew; Jeremy told him everything.
Elena had missed one of the Spanish werewolves. He took Savannah hostage. Then, he started to bleed out, the way Aleister killed Sondra and his adoptive father. Eduardo used the momentary distraction to run.

Clay was not part of the fight because he followed a Spanish werewolf who went to meet Karl Marsten, International Mutt of Mystery. The Spanish pack tried to get his cooperation, but he told Clay, and later, Jeremy, that he never would have worked with them. Karl said the Escobedo wanted to kill Jeremy and take over the North American pack. When Clay got back to Stonehaven, he had Karl with him. Eduardo had just ran into the woods. Jeremy tasked Clay to follow him.
Roman, previously insistent that Jeremy kill Savannah, now backed off after seeing how powerful a witch could be. Witches would make bad enemies, he said. Jeremy added that they made good allies, too. For now at least, Roman was content to let Jeremy run his territory as he pleased.
Alone with Elena, Savannah told her it was not she who killed the Spanish werewolf. In the woods, Aleister appeared and stopped Clay from pursuing Eduardo. Aleister took over Clay's body, then Aleister/Clay placed Aleister's body in a shed.

Strays
■ Every pack has tried to turn a woman into a werewolf, but none survived except Elena. One of the things that do not sit well with me with Bitten was this premise that women do not survive the turn because they (we) are not strong enough. The werewolves were wrong about their origin story; there has to be a better explanation to the no women werewolves thing.
■ Elena looked lovely with her new haircut.
■ Logan did not make an appearance, but at least he was mentioned. He and Rachel had disappeared and had not been in contact with the pack.
