Bitten Recap 'Nine Circles'

Season 2 Episode 6

Because Elena and Savannah had managed to forge a friendship whilst in captivity, Aleister messed with Elena's mind so her stress and desire to escape would not mess with Savannah's concentration. The day of the Undoing had arrived. Aleister gathered his followers and the newly minted full pledged witch Savannah on the grounds of his compound. Elena's blood was nearby, ready to be used to kill all the witches.

Elena, as has been emphasised again and again, was strong. Elena had promised Clay she would send a signal so he would know where to look for her. There were two abandoned military bases, approximately 200 miles from each other. Jeremy, Nick and Ruth checked out one, Clay and Paige looked for the other.

Paige was hardly one of those easy to like personalities, and she and Clay clashed as the trudged through the woods, as Elena struggled with Aleister's magic inside the compound. As what happened with Nick, Paige and Clay eventually stopped bickering and worked together. Elena managed to create an explosion, and stopped the ceremony before the witches could be eliminated through Savannah.

Whilst Clay dealt with Aleister's followers, Paige found and saved Elena from Aleister's magic. She also sent Aleister somewhere, she was not sure where, but not before he told her he was her brother. Aleister ended up in that room where he and Sondra sh-gged in front of his followers. He placed his likeness on one of his followers, then impaled that poor guy on one of the poles in the room. Paige ended up thinking she killed Aleister. The followers woke up from their trance with no idea what happened.

Rachel and Logan also managed to escape. They were the ones who stopped the top from spinning and removed the magic of the mark. Rachel, however, insisted that they leave. Elena's name did not pass between them. Even back in the first season, there was some separation between Logan and the rest of the pack. Much of that was dictated by the story; he built a life of his own, he was having a baby with the woman, a baby that werewolf tradition decreed would have to be taken from his mother. Yet, in the last few episodes, Logan's separation was trickier to explain. Logan disappeared at the same time that Elena did, yet it was mostly Elena the pack was concerned about. At least Clay mentioned Logan and Rachel in this episode.

With Aleister still alive, it does seem that witches would be a major part of Bitten at least until the second season finale. On we go.

Strays

■ Thirty years ago, Ruth sought the assistance of Clara when her water broke. Clara was the closest witch around. Ruth was surprised when Clara told her the baby was a boy, and blackmailed Clara into getting rid of the baby. Ruth knew that Clara had been selling spells. Clara, however, could not kill the child, and left him outside a church instead.
