Bitten Recap 'Trespass'

Image from Bitten, streamed via Netflix
Season 1 Episode 3

With the bodies dumped right outside and on Stonehaven property, there were indications from the beginning that someone was coming for the Danvers pack. Now, with Pete’s death, that was almost a certainty. After Elena and Clay tracked the killer mutt to a club, and the mutt was killed by the sheriff, the Danvers pack began to disband. Elena and Logan returned to Toronto. Antonio wanted to investigate another mutt, Karl Marsten, with his son Nick. Pete was supposed to catch up with his band’s tour.

Clay did not recognise the scent of Pete’s attacker. Based on his wounds, it was clear that Pete did not go down without a fight. One of Pete's fingers was cut off. Of the members of the pack, Pete appeared to be the most easy going, the most well liked. Now, the pack needed to gather again to avenge him.

Though Elena declared that she would not come back, there was no way she would stay away with Pete’s death. There was a difference in Pete and Logan’s leaving, and Elena’s. Pete and Logan were told by Jeremy they could leave. Elena declared that she was going back to her life in Toronto, though it was clear that Jeremy would have wanted her to hung around a little while longer.

Elena blamed herself and the tension between her and Clay for the carnage at the club. Clay remained outside whilst she went in to find the mutt. The mutt could not control himself, and shifted right there in the club. Elena tried to lock him in a room but he got away. The mutt killed at least one guy and bit another. When Clay saw the bitten was a drug addict, he knew he would not survive the change. What would happen was a few days of agony, then death. Clay killed the bitten, to Elena’s objections.

In an effort to find who bit the new mutt, Jeremy sent Nick, Logan and Pete to meet with Karl Marsten, a well connected mutt. In exchange for finding out who bit the murderous mutt, Karl wanted Jeremy to allow him territory, something that was forbidden by pack law on mutts. Antonio was suspicious that Karl was close by, almost as though he was just waiting for the pack to call. He wanted him and Nick to look into Karl’s financial trail.

Trespass resolved one mystery --- Who was the mutt who has been killing in Bear County? --- and upped the stakes with the murder of Pete. Pascale Langdale as Karl Marsten, ‘international mutt of mystery’, was also a welcome addition. On to the next.

Strays

■ One of the hunters, Braxton, got aggressive and was hit by Clay. Braxton’s dog Blue was agitated by Elena and ran off somewhere in the estate.

■ Philip sent Elena flowers. Aw.

■ Philip got a big account from a company that would like to sell Estonian vodka into North America.

■ Really, Elena? You had to ask Clay how you looked?

■ Townsfolk were pissed at the Danvers because they did not think the family was doing anything to catch the killer wolf.

■ Nick has a new club. From the ragging he got from Pete and Logan, Nick likely did not have his father’s business acumen.

■ Philip invited Logan and his girlfriend to dinner.

■ Antonio wanted to canvass all the mutts to remind them of pack rules.
