Bitten Recap 'Stalking'

Image from Bitten, streamed via Netflix
Season 1 Episode 7

Based on what we have been told so far, Jeremy was a powerful alpha, either the most powerful alpha in North America or the only alpha in North America. Yet, with a few moves, Daniel Santos was able to wound him grievously, both metaphorically and literally. Daniel proposed a meet, then staged an ambush hours before the meeting, whilst Clay and Elena surveilled what was supposed to be neutral ground. Antonio wanted to drive past the scene of what appeared to be an accident but Jeremy insisted on helping the injured woman. She turned out to be the human girlfriend of Zachary Cain. Antonio succumbed to his wounds, but not before telling his good friend and Pack boss that the time for half measures was over. Jeremy’s wound did not appear that serious at first, but the blade was poisoned. The Danvers Pack had Zachary in a cage, but its alpha was now fighting for his life.

Antonio was the Pack fixer, which was why his loss was a grave one for the Danvers clan. Antonio covered up Dennis’s death to prevent the pack from appearing open for challenge to the other werewolves. Antonio was also in charge of the Pack’s money. Antonio was Jeremy’s consigliere. It was fitting, in a way, for the two of them to be together as Antonio fought his final battle.

Was it a good end for Antonio? The randomness rankled, but that was the way life worked most of the time. Nick did not even have time to properly grieve his father, for Jeremy lost consciousness due to the toxin now in his blood.

Whilst Elena was away, Philip had a reunion of sorts with an ex girlfriend who helped him track down the owner of the footage of the wolves. Philip’s vodka campaign and everything associated with it right now feels like a shoe in to the werewolf tale, so I hope there is a pay off for this in the later episodes. At the same time that Philip was being a loyal boyfriend, Elena was once more all in with the Pack. She lied to Philip on why she needed to be back at Bear Valley.

The werewolf who was pulling away from the clan more than Elena was Logan, who just found out his girlfriend Rachel was pregnant. I have wondered why Jeremy was against Clay’s relationship with human Elena whilst Logan got to have a live in human girlfriend. But then again, Jeremy’s objection back then was specifically about Clay bringing Elena to Stonehaven. I suppose, since Logan never brought his girlfriend home, Jeremy had no objections about their relationship. It was cold, however, for Logan not to go to Nick’s side when he was told by Jeremy that Antonio was dead. Logan may have wanted to stay out of the fight for the sake of the woman he loved and their unborn child. Yet Logan must have known that the life of the Pack would catch up with him sooner rather than later.

These were dark times for the Stonehaven crew. Apart from their issues with the mutts, Braxton’s body has been found, and the Sheriff wanted to talk to Clay. The Sheriff also wanted to see the rest of Stonehaven. Considering that Zachary Cain was chilling in their basement cell, having the Sheriff around was not at all a good idea.
